

Italian With A Twist
A well-wrought Southwest kitchen is kissed by the warmth of Italy
Ask Margey Colbeth if she likes to cook, and her answer is spiced with mirth. "Like to cook? It's my Italian heritage," she affirms with laughter. With that as a given, the north Scottsdale welcoming and well-equipped kitchen - one that would be simpatico with the desert Southwest, and at the same time reflect the appeal of Tuscany.
This challenge was put into the hands of builder/designer Barry Smith of Casas del Oso, who crafted a Santa-Fe style home, and interior designer Carol Buto, ASID, who decorated it with eclectic flair, adding nuances of Tuscan flavor to the kitchen. The result is a space that is loaded with charm and convenience.
